Figure Drawing Methods & Materials of the Baroque and 18th Century” with Jon DeMartin

July 12 - 14, 2024
9 am to 4 pm everyday

In this three-day workshop, we'll be drawing the figure from life using the mediums and techniques of the Renaissance, the Baroque, and the 18th century. The mornings will be dedicated to both short poses and demonstrations that will cover each phase of a drawing from the gesture to modeling form with light & shade.  In the afternoons, we will draw a long pose.  This will enable the student to apply the material and objectives we have covered during our morning sessions.

For a deeper look into drawing the figure and its construction I’d recommend my
book ‘Drawing Atelier: the figure. How to draw in the classical style’.
